Sibel Edmonds

A couple days ago I wrote emails to Politico, Raw Story, Glenn Greenwald, Jon Turley, TPM, and even Juan Cole, asking to get some reporting on Sibel Edmonds' mid-August testimony. Surprisingly enough, Raw Story has at least put up a headline link today to a Brad Blog article. Thanks to them. I doubt if any of the others will pay any attention.

[Sibel Edmonds is a] former FBI official who, following 9/11, listened to and translated wiretap recordings made from 1996 through 2002, in the FBI's counterintelligence and counterterrorism departments, under top-secret clearance.
[...]
Phil Giraldi, a former CIA counter-terrorism officer, is one of the few in the U.S. "mainstream" media (of a sort), who has bothered to cover --- and cover responsibly --- Sibel Edmonds' story in the past.
Today over at The American Conservative --- that's right, The American Conservative --- Giraldi notes this week's release of Edmonds' remarkable deposition video and transcript, appropriately under the headline "Sibel Edmonds Speaks, But No One is Listening"...
[...]
Giraldi [...] goes on to note that "Edmonds is a credible witness who is ignored by the mainstream media and congress because her tales, if true, would be devastating to both political parties and to the Israel and Turkish lobbies."
[...]
Edmonds' claims have previously been found "credible" "serious" and "warrant[ing] a thorough and careful review," by the DoJ Inspector General, and confirmed as such, on several occasions, by Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and many many others.

Credible, I guess. The Bush Administration had a gag on her for years under the "state's secrets" privilege. Sibel also claims that the CIA was working closely with al Qaeda in the Balkans all the way up until 9/11.
Brad Friedman says he’s going to do a series of small pieces about the deposition so that the mainstream can absorb it.
This article gives some of the testimony as well as a quick summary of the particular charges Edmonds levels at the named officials.

In this first break-down article, we'll look at the answers given by Edmonds during her deposition in regard to bribery and blackmail of current and former members of the U.S. Congress, including Dennis Hastert (R-IL), Bob Livingston (R-LA), Dan Burton (R-IN), Roy Blunt (R-MO), Stephen Solarz (D-NY), Tom Lantos (D-CA, deceased) and an unnamed, currently-serving, married Democratic Congresswoman said to have been video-taped in a Lesbian affair by Turkish agents for blackmail purposes.
You’d think that the identity of the Congresswoman would be something the mainstream would latch onto, wouldn’t you? They always seem to love that kind of thing.
Of course, it's not just mainstream media who are not listening. I don't see anything on any of the "liberal" blogs I regularly visit, either.
You can also always keep up with the Edmonds story via the link I've been keeping in the right sidebar to Let Sibel Edmonds Speak. Finally they did, and who listened? Pretty sad.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.

UPDATE 2/20/18:  Glenn Greenwald Twitter thread regarding Sibel Edmonds, calling her a "pathological liar and an insane person."
