Despite President Barack Obama's pledge to withdraw US troops from the war-torn country, the US is planning to award contracts to protect US installations at a cost to taxpayers that could near $1 billion.
Political sleaze is alive and well. Private armies at great expense, but hey! We’re bringing those soldiers home folks!
Okay, so we're going to send them to Afghanistan next, but we promised to get them out of Iraq, and that's what we're doing. Yay us! Remember that at election time.
