New Car for the Environment

You won't be able to buy and use one here, of course. But Europeans are looking toward a new car with a price tag of $7,000 that runs on compressed air, at speeds approaching 70 mph, at a cost of $3 per 125 miles. Apparently, the company that will be making them already sells buses that run on compressed air.

The car is being built by the Tata Motor Company - a French company in India - whose risk profile is said to be in danger of increasing if it pulls off the deal it's tring to broker to buy off Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford.
