I'd say that's a move intended to knock Hillary Clinton back down, otherwise, why do it now? Of course, it could be just the opposite with South Carolina coming up, the state where John Kerry lost the primary to John Edwards in 2004, and become a negative for Obama if South Carolina doesn't like John Kerry. Or a gesture with no effect at all.
Hmmmm...Kerry is endorsing Obama over Edwards, his running mate in 2004.
