I didn't give it much thought, but I'm pretty sure that explanation wouldn't have been near the top of my list of explanations for Gravel's rock tossing video. My first impression (which wasn't just immediate) was that he was showing disdain for something; maybe throwing out the weight of the current mess we're in. His metaphor might have worked better with a pebble, as opposed to a heavy rock.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
