Not even a hint of Stalin or Hitler.The following breaking news that Cindy Sheehan, co-founder of Gold Star Families for Peace, is going to be arrested this Thursday as a “threat to national security” only confirms what so many of us already know—democracy, free speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to redress our government, freedom to dissent, freedom to demand answers from so-called elected officials is dead in this nation.
To call Cindy Sheehan, the mother of Casey Sheehan who was killed in Iraq, and whose blood is on Bush/Cheney’s hands, a “threat to national security” because she demands to know from Bush why her son died shows how low this nation has been dragged.
We must give our full support to Cindy while she takes on the beast—Bush/Cheney & Co., Inc. The link to “meetwithcindy.org” I have not as yet been able to open past “page not found.” Why does that not surprise me?—Jack

Cindy Sheehan phoned me from Texas a few minutes ago to say that she's been informed that beginning Thursday, she and her companions will be considered a threat to national security and will be arrested.
Coincidentally, Thursday is the day that Rice and Rumsfeld visit the ranch, and Friday is a fundraiser event for the haves and the have mores. Cindy said that she and others plan to be arrested. http://www.meetwithcindy.org

Update 12:30 pm:This is for those of you here in Oregon, specifically the Portland area. VFP-72 is trying to organize a vigil in support of Cindy Sheehan, at Shrunk Plaza this Thursday, the day the feds said they will arrest her if she is not gone.
The mother of a son killed in Iraq, on public land, exercising what are supposed to be her rights to freedom of speech, assembly and the right to demand answer's from those in charge, namely Bush. In Cindy's case, she wants to know why her son died. A very reasonable request.
The response to her question--the Bush squad tags her a "threat to national security" and threatens her with arrest. I grew up being taught what made the Soviet Union and communism so evil was they did not allow free speech, dissent, no questioning of government at all, upon pain of arrest and sometimes death.
As soon as I have the time this will take place here in Portland this Thursday, I will let you know. Let me know if you can be there on Thursday, time uncertain right now, and I'll pass it on the VFP. As for me, I'm willing to do the entire day so the time really makes no difference to me.
