Lugar plays footsie with State

[In the matter of the John Bolton nomination, Senator Richard Lugar] has weighed in on the question of what materials the State Department should send at Senator Biden's request and which not to worry about.

Lugar has written a letter today to Condi Rice praising the State Department for complying with various materials and information requests from Senator Biden. He then indicates that given the limited time, State should comply with just four of the nine information requests that the Minority on the Foreign Relations Committee has made.

Richard Lugar is a true American patriot knowing that if too much information got out that this nation would have to endure the agonies of a Watergate X 100. He does not want to put the country through that, and knows that he is sitting on a powder keg. It is Biden and the Democrats who are lusting for power and care not for the country in their need to know and expose the filthy underside of what it is necessary for a country to do in a time of War. There are enemies within who wish this country ill and its time for them to stop undermining the resolve and fortitude of this Administration to rid the world of as much Evil as possible in the next 3 1/2 years. Enduring the agonies of Watergate. That would be terrible, wouldn't it? I mean, getting to the rotten core of politics in this country really is not in our best interest, is it? No. By God, we need that filthy underside. And why, in the name of heaven, should we look at it?! We might not like it.

Willfull ignorance is probably my number one pet peeve. And proof that God doesn't really give a whit how you behave - you can still live in the most privileged country in the world.
