Online petition against continued U.S. aggression toward Cuba

FRIENDS OF CUBA DENOUNCE CONTINUED US AGGRESSION AGAINST CUBA

We, the undersigned, Friends of Cuba, categorically reject the US’ continued aggression as it seeks to condemn Cuba on false human rights accusations before the current meeting of the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva, Switzerland.

We maintain that the US’ unilateral move to discredit the human rights record of Cuba is nothing more than a shameful attempt to justify the US’ criminal economic and social blockade against the Cuban people. The groundless nature of the US’ annual attempts to condemn Cuba is becoming all too apparent to the Commission’s member states making it more difficult than ever for the US to manipulate the process.

We implore member states to stand firm against the US’ deceitful tactics and to vote “no” on any US-conceived condemnation of Cuba on human rights grounds.

Whether it is the US’ treatment of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib or treatment of its own incarcerated citizens, the United States government lacks the moral authority to judge the human rights of any country, least of all Cuba.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
