Following up the PNAC letter story...

Steve Clemons has a lengthy, but very worthwhile post. One small paragraph:
The very last thing we should be doing is throwing not only money but also human lives into a military complex that has not been held to account for its questionable performance.
I can't agree with his concluding sentence...
[T]he right answer is to not invade and not occupy until the circumstances are right.
I don't believe the circumstances are ever right to invade and occupy. But read the post, because it deals very thoughtfully with this PNAC proposal for more troops, and a possible draft.
