Not-so-funny business

Recall the case of Chaplain James Yee who was charged with aiding terrorists imprisoned at Guantanamo and against whom the apparently trumped-up charges were dropped in favor of sexual misconduct charges, and those charges were also eventually dropped? Well, there were three other men charged with espionage along with Yee, and it looks like the charges against at least one of them might be running into some snags. Perhaps not so incidentally to the problems, an Air Force tech sergeant, who acted as assistant investigator in the case, is now himself charged with rape, sodomy and "fondling girls".

It is unclear how many victims were involved, said Air Force spokeswoman Lt. Col. Jennifer Cassidy.
  CBS News article

There are so many stories about rape and sex abuse charges against military men (often perpetrated on their fellow corpsmen and women) that it makes the whole scandal of Abu Ghraib seem like an extension of what's wrong with the American military. Aided and abetted by a corrupt and morally bankrupt administration, of course.
