Faulty intelligence

By some counts, our intelligence apparatus is hopelessly broken. It does seem that way.

"Venezuelafoia.info would like to point out that the reliability of US Defense Intelligence Agency informants can be highly questionable as evidenced by documents we have obtained."

A document from the Defense Intelligence Agency "falsely claims that President Chavez ordered the destruction of private television stations in Venezuela on December 12 (2002) ... a complete fabrication.

Such reports clearly show that US Defense Intelligence Agency officers in Venezuela are using unreliable sources and are reporting fallacious information to Washington, which then in turn negatively affects US-Venezuela relations.

We've seen the Bush administration blatantly doing this in the case of the run-up to invading Iraq. And we've seen CIA interference in global affairs since practically forever. So, being the newly-converted skeptic and conspiracy theorist that I am, I can't help but wonder if the intelligence that goes into creating our foreign and military policy isn't so much poor as it is "selected".

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
