Chowderhead in Chief is still asserting an Iraq-al Qa'ida connection

US President George W. Bush on Thursday repeated charges that deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had "a relationship" with al-Qaeda, although a commission investigating the Sept.11, 2001 attacks said there was "no credible evidence" of that cooperation.

"There was a relationship between Iraq and al-Qaeda," Bush said after a Cabinet meeting at the White House.

"This administration never said that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated between Saddam and al-Qaeda," Bush said. "We did say there were numerous contacts between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda, for example, Iraqi intelligence agents met with bin Laden, the head of al-Qaeda in Sudan."

So, I don't get it. Is he saying that contacts with terrorists, even if you turn down their plots, are reasons to get you visited with a U.S. military invasion? I have a pretty good sense that American intelligence agents have met with al-Qa'ida, too, and perhaps with the head.

"The reason I keep insisting that there was a relationship between Iraq and Saddam and al Qaeda, because there was a relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda," Bush told reporters after a Cabinet meeting at the White House.

Bush said the contacts between Iraq and al Qaeda provided proof of a relationship.

Okay, let's get beyond that first psycho babbling and deal with the second statement. It's true, of course. But I thought the concern would be if the relationship were cooperative.

You know, this really is just too absurd. Why is this man still in the White House?

It may come down to Bush & Cheney together in an undisclosed location one of these days. I think for safety's sake, it should be a padded cell.
