If you're going to reinvent yourself, do it the way Dubya did - in preparation for the run, not as the blows start landing in the midst of it.

Speaking of Obama
He's quit his church of 20 some years due to remarks by two of its pastors. I think this is a mistaken move - trying to adjust his life according to campaign controvery. It looks like a lack of conviction, or that your position was unfounded in the first place. It's not atypical of politics by any means - Hillary and McCain do it on a regular bais, and many others before them - but it never ends well. When people find out they can dance you like a puppet, they'll go for the jugular.
