What are the chances?

That detainees on trial for charges of terrorism are going to get fair treatment from the man who interpreted the Geneva conventions as "quaint"?

That Enron's criminal executives (including, but not limited to "Kenny-Boy Lay") are going to be held accountable by the man who once was a counsel for the company?

[Attorney General Alberto] Gonzales already has said he will remove himself from an investigation into the leaking of undercover CIA agent Valerie Plame's name to newspaper columnist Robert Novak.

Isn't that big of him? Perhaps because we've already excused (and promoted) one of the men possibly responsible for the leak. Another one sits in the oval office. And it seems like the investigation is just going to fade away for lack of interest.

Gonazels shouldn't be permitted to be involved in any of these issues. Of course, he never should have been confirmed as Attorney General.
