The US military has dramatically stepped up air strikes and manhunts in Afghanistan in a bid to weaken the Taliban, reflecting a return to "counter-terrorism" tactics.
And didn’t we just have that great plan that was going to get control of key towns, train Afghan troops and install “governments in a box”? Now we’re going back to the scorched earth plan, I guess.
