Invaded

Was anybody but me hooked on (even remember) that old TV show The Invaders?

Remember how you could spot the evil aliens? They had a crooked little finger.

Emotionless alien beings from a dying planet who were the main antagonists on the sci-fi series THE INVADERS/ABC/1967-68. Architect David Vincent (Roy Thinnes) discovered a spacecraft unloading these invaders one night when he was looking for shortcut on a lonely country road. His only problem was convincing a disbelieving world that the invaders had landed and that they were methodically taking over the Earth.

[...]

The invaders didn't have oversized-craniums, green skin or antennas sprouting from their heads. They simply were human look-alikes that could easily infiltrate into society. They did have their Achilles heels, however. Upon closer scrutiny, one discovers that they were without a pulse or heartbeat and had a mutated, crooked fourth finger that jutted out awkwardly from the hand.

Keep an eye out for funny looking fingers and always be sure you check for a pulse.

I couldn’t find a picture from the TV show, but Watertiger has spotted one somewhere else…

  1. A great show. And when you killed them, they disintigrated, so there was never any evidence. Convenient!

I think I had a The Invaders lunchbox, and I remember drawing spaceships that looked a lot like their flying saucers.

I would have no trouble at all believing Laura Bush was one of Them.

  2. and i'd guess you've been feeling a lot like the main character (played by roy thinnes - why didn't he show up in anything else but soaps?) for the past eight years trying to get other people to see what's behind the facade of the bush klan.

    thanks for reading and writing.

    good luck out there.
